10 Days Away from Doing Something a “Little Crazy”
Running a 26.2 mile marathon is a HUGE challenge. Running 50 miles?? Downright crazy!!
“But you have to do something crazy if you want to raise a lot of money.”
And that’s exactly what will happen in 10 days when Marlins President David Samson runs 50 miles so as to raise $500,000 for 10 causes. We are now 10 days away from the “Run to Honor the Workers.”
Contribute now at marlins.com/samsonrun to show that you believe that challenges can be overcome – no matter how crazy.

Today’s Featured Cause: For each of the 10 days until the big day, we will call special attention to one of the causes. Today’s featured cause is The Miami Foundation. The Miami Foundation’s Engaged Youth program is a leadership development program geared towards high school juniors and seniors in Miami-Dade County. The inaugural class of Engaged Youth program is running from October 2011 to May 2012, providing unique and exciting opportunities to explore Greater Miami’s history and development, its diverse neighborhoods, and social, economic and political issues.
During miles 25-30 of the run, Marlins President David Samson will be joined by Javier Soto, the President of the Miami Foundation who has completed the Chicago and Boston Marathons, and P.J. Loyello, the Marlins Sr. VP, Communications and Broadcasting, who has run three marathons with David: Miami, Boston and NY City
